Job summary

TridentCare seeks a Lead Mobile Phlebotomist to support the Phlebotomy Supervisor and oversee mobile staff workflow. You will drive to client facilities, collect specimens at bedside, and ensure accurate patient identification and proper sample handling.

Responsibilities include route management, safety, HIPAA/compliance, and training new phlebotomists. A valid driver’s license and a vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• Must have current licensure, if required by state.
• Must have basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Proficient in venipuncture using vacutainer and wing techniques.
• Extensive knowledge of specimen preservation and patient preparation.
• Strong knowledge of infection control and environment of care guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA/PHI requirements.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and able to take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Drives vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed.
• Unloads phlebotomy tray and takes to patient’s bedside to collect samples.
• Accurately identifies patient before collecting specimens.
• Check in with dispatch per policy on scheduled workdays for route amendments.
• Completes assigned route and ensures all samples are collected, labeled, processed, and delivered.
• Maintains universal precautions and safety; reports any issues to supervisor.
• Trains new phlebotomists as assigned and participates in start-up in-services.
