Job summary

Strategic Systems Programs in Washington, DC seeks a senior engineering leader to direct branch staff, set technical direction, and guide work plans for missile systems deployed on nuclear-powered vessels. You will drive cross-disciplinary collaboration to ensure system integrity and mission readiness.

You will lead IPTs, conduct analyses, coordinate testing, and manage risk to ensure safe, effective integration with propulsion and shipboard control systems.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience providing guidance to multidisciplinary engineering or test & evaluation (T&E) efforts, including technical direction and issue resolution.
• Experience coordinating across requirements, systems engineering, test infrastructure, instrumentation, and data for complex programs.

Responsibilities

• Direct branch staff by setting technical direction, priorities, and work plans and mentor engineers.
• Lead IPTs, working groups, and technical reviews in support of branch objectives.
• Develop and evaluate system requirements, technical specifications, and integration strategies for missile systems deployed on nuclear-powered vessels.
• Perform system-level analysis, modeling and simulation, and performance validation of guided missile technologies.
• Coordinate and oversee component and full-system testing, including test planning, execution, and data analysis.
• Support platform integration efforts, ensuring compatibility with nuclear propulsion safety requirements and shipboard control systems.
• Lead risk management, technical assessments, and design reviews to drive innovation and ensure technical readiness.
