Job summary

Weyerhaeuser’s Kalispell Lumber facility is seeking a Lead Millwright to lead a team of millwrights, drive reliability, safety, and continuous improvement. You will coordinate and execute maintenance plans, mentor technicians, and collaborate with maintenance and production leadership to ensure optimal equipment performance.

The role requires leadership experience, an industrial maintenance background, and willingness to work overtime and weekends on a 4-10s schedule.

Qualifications

  • Computer proficiency with Outlook, Office, Excel, Word and web-based programs.
  • Proficiency with SAP preferred, but not required.
  • Experience leading a team is preferred.
  • Experience in lumber or wood manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of millwrights to maximize equipment reliability, safety, and production.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with supervisors, planners, and production teams.
  • Utilize preventive maintenance software to document parts usage and repair times.
  • Develop and coach team members through development plans and training.

DescriptionWeyerhaeuser is currently offering a $1,500 hiring bonus (additional details provided at time of interview/offer)!Hourly Rate of Pay $41.50/hrWeyerhaeuser’s Kalispell Lumber facility has an opportunity for a Lead Millwright. The successful candidates will have leadership and technical capabilities and the ability to grow and develop as a future leader. These positions will help to develop leadership safety, reliability, and operational excellence, while coordinating and maintaining operational/implementation schedules and supporting the business to ensure continuous process improvement.As a Lead Millwright at Kalispell Lumber, you’ll have the opportunity to:Fill in for Maintenance Supervisor, as necessary, including but not limited to vacations and weekends.Support Kalispell Lumber by maximizing equipment reliability and providing support for facility equipment in a safe manner, by effectively managing/motivating a team of millwrights to meet operational excellence and reliability goals.Work closely with the maintenance/electrical supervisor(s), planners, mill management, operators, maintenance, and production teams to effectively manage maintenance of the facility and equipment.Manage and be a part of a team of millwrights to maximize operation of the maintenance shop and be responsible for safety, quality, production, and scheduling of millwrights.Work along millwrights to meet maintenance standards and keep lines of communication open between millwrights, electricians, management, and production.Complete required paperwork utilizing preventative maintenance software program associated with repairing equipment, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.Conduct team meetings and create individual development plans to train and coach millwrights.Communicate back to the Maintenance Supervisor so there are open lines of communication between shifts.Manage employees’ performance and provide discipline recommendations, as necessary.QualificationsRequired SkillsComputer proficiency including Outlook, Office, Excel, Word, and Web-based programs required (Proficiency with SAP preferred, but not required)Strong organizational skills with the ability to be flexible to change and constant interruptionsEffective communication, interpersonal, and time management skillsAbility to work independently and to be self-motivatedWork closely with the management team and anticipate production/maintenance needsMust be willing to work overtime when requiredEducation & ExperienceAssociate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance or equivalent education or Class 1 Millwright or minimum of five (5) years of experience as Millwright requiredExperience leading a team is preferredHigh School Diploma or GED requiredExperience in lumber or wood manufacturing environment preferredThe schedule will match the day shift schedules of 4 10s (Sunday-Wednesday & Wednesday–Saturday) with willingness to work any shift, work overtime and weekends.About Wood ProductsWe've been delivering quality building products and solutions to our customers for more than 100 years.
