Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Military Cyber Engineering Lead to spearhead multi-disciplinary teams designing resilient cyber solutions for high-assurance military platforms.

You will partner with government sponsors, evolve architectures to withstand hostile cyber environments, and lead end-to-end engineering across acquisitions, operations, and sustainment while advancing new concepts and ensuring security clearances.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or another field relevant to the duties as described above.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing and maintaining military systems.
  • Ability to design solutions that mitigate cyber-attack impact given funding/operations constraints.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven critical thinker with strategy development skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% and work in classified areas.
  • Eligibility for Interim Secret clearance with potential TS/SCI+poly; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Work with government sponsors to identify critical challenge areas for contributions.
  • Analyze and evolve architectures to enhance system resilience to cyber attack.
  • Lead teams in designing robust, resilient solutions for acquisitions, operations, and sustainment in hostile cyber environments.
  • Contribute to strategy and early concept demonstration while respecting system constraints.
