Responsibilities

• Organize and administer the team under his/her direction.
• Enforce all rules of the High School Athletic Association related to his/her sport.
• Assist in planning events such as assemblies, parent’s night, homecoming, and banquets.
• Maintain an accurate and current squad roster and submit copies to athletic director.
• Develop program emphasizing fundamentals and participation over won-lost records.
• Recognize athletic activities as part of a well-balanced educational program.
• Provide vigorous activities to develop physique and cardiovascular fitness.
• Develop leadership and citizenship through sportsmanship.
• Foster self-expression, confidence, and self-discipline through physical and social experiences.
• Cooperate on exam schedules and ensure insurance coverage is in effect.
• Assign at least one coach to supervise the squad and secure facilities.
• Prepare equipment/supply requests for the athletic director.
• Arrange for team awards through the athletic director.
• Coordinate with the Sports Coordinator on eligibility lists and equipment disposition.
• Develop public relations with parents and media.
• Attend staff meetings and professional growth activities.
• Maintain dress and conduct standards with the athletic staff.
• Be available for activities beyond the school day.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
