Job summary

FOX43/WPMT, part of TEGNA Inc., seeks an experienced Chief Meteorologist to lead our weather coverage across Central Pennsylvania. You will guide forecasting, engage viewers, and drive weather storytelling across broadcast, digital, streaming, mobile and social platforms.

The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years on-air meteorology experience, strong leadership, and a proven ability to develop innovative weather content while coordinating with newsroom leadership and community events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or related field required or equivalent experience.
• AMS Seal or equivalent professional certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of professional on-air meteorology experience, with significant severe/high-impact weather coverage.
• Strong leadership, coaching or management experience preferred.
• Excellent on-camera, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute FOX43's overall weather strategy across broadcast, digital, streaming, mobile and social platforms.
• Lead and oversee the FOX43 weather team, including scheduling, coaching and professional development.
• Deliver accurate, compelling weather presentations for Central Pennsylvania across multiple platforms.
