WGAL-TV, a Hearst-owned NBC affiliate, is seeking a Meteorologist / Weather Reporter to deliver accurate forecasts across TV, digital and streaming platforms in the Lancaster, PA market. We value science proficiency, clear storytelling, and engaging on-air presence.

You’ll forecast live, report from the field, build weather graphics, and contribute enterprise weather content and community-focused stories while collaborating with the News Team.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of meteorology, weather science and forecasting.
• Dynamic, authentic on-air presence.
• Ability to combine scientific credibility with personality and storytelling.
• Experience with television weather systems and graphics.
• Digital and social media storytelling experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze weather data and develop accurate forecasts for the WGAL viewing area.
• Deliver compelling, conversational in-studio weather forecasts.
• Create weather graphics and forecasts with minimal supervision.
• Provide calm, urgent coverage during severe weather events.
• Report live from the field during severe weather with observations and safety context.
• Translate radar and model data into viewer-friendly information.
