Job summary

Milwaukee Tool seeks a Sr. Platform Engineer to design, develop, and support manufacturing technology applications across North American sites, with a primary emphasis on the MES platform.

You will influence standard designs, work with stakeholders, and guide citizen developers to deliver scalable platform solutions. The role requires hands-on development across the stack, collaboration with Quality and Manufacturing, and strong documentation of data architectures and integration requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years’ IT experience focused on manufacturing platform development and support.
• Proven ability to build integrations between platforms and systems (APIs, data connectivity).
• Working knowledge of machine connectivity platforms and connection methods (OPC, MQTT, Modbus).
• Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills with proactive issue handling.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills across global audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support MES and manufacturing platform applications across North American facilities.
• Deliver scalable, reliable platform solutions for shop floor teams.
• Influence design standards and best practices across teams and citizen developers.
• Provide technical consulting and guidance to end users and stakeholders.
• Produce process maps, data architectures, and integration specifications.
