Job summary

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in the Tampa Bay area seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the clinical chemistry/microbiology lab, ensuring accurate testing and timely reporting.

You will lead a team of technologists, coordinate workflow across hematology, microbiology, immunology, chemistry, transfusion, and molecular diagnostics, and ensure quality control and regulatory compliance. Travel to St. Petersburg may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Florida state licensure as Clinical Laboratory Technologist or equivalent.
• ASCP/ MLS certification as MT/ MLS with state licensure on hire.

Responsibilities

• Leads and mentors a team of laboratory scientists and technicians.
• Coordinates daily laboratory activities and delegates tasks for workflow.
• Performs a wide range of tests across hematology, microbiology, immunology, chemistry, transfusion, and molecular diagnostics.
• Analyzes and interprets complex test results for accuracy.
• Implements quality control measures and regulatory compliance.
• Oversees operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
• Prepares detailed reports and communicates findings to healthcare providers.
• Provides guidance and support to staff and trainees.
