Tennova Healthcare - Jefferson Memorial Hospital is seeking a Lead Medical Technologist to supervise and optimize laboratory operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor staff. The role requires leadership in quality management, proficiency testing, and LIS/EMR oversight.

The Lead MT performs high-complexity testing as needed, coordinates workflow, and supports accreditation readiness while maintaining safety and accreditation standards across the lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• 2-4 years MT experience in a clinical laboratory setting required.
• 0-2 years leadership or quality management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee laboratory operations to ensure timely, accurate testing and quality control.
• Manage workflow, staffing coordination, and supply inventory to maintain uninterrupted service.
• Monitor QC, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure proficiency testing is performed and reported timely.
• Conduct staff competency assessments, training, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment; escalate major issues as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and LIS/EMR workflows.
• Assist with accreditation readiness and regulatory inspections.
