Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Science with NAACLS-accredited Medical Technology program and MT certification.
• Alternatively, biology/chemistry/physics/microbiology with advanced degree/certification in related field (e.g., MA in Chemistry or Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics cert).
• CLIA 889 Equivalent (HEW/HHS Certification) is accepted.

Responsibilities

• Lead Medical Technologist responsibilities and oversee daily lab operations and quality control per SOPs.
• Perform and document quality control, identify shifts/trends, and resolve issues.
• Participate in Quality Assurance activities and proficiency testing; document incidents in QA software.
• Interpret test results in clinical context and guide staff on follow-up procedures.
• Oversee instrument troubleshooting and maintenance; coordinate with vendors for repairs/upgrades.
• Ensure timely reporting of testing results and handling of critical values in LIS.
• Oversee specimen collection per lab policies for timely and accurate testing.
• Maintain clean, organized workstations and adhere to safety policies; engage in ongoing education.
• Assist with cost-saving measures and proper reagent ordering to minimize waste and optimize staffing.

Education
