Job summary

CARTI is seeking a Lead Medical Technologist to perform and supervise all MT duties, ensuring accurate diagnostic testing and adherence to procedures. The role serves as a liaison between management and staff, guiding daily lab operations, staffing, analyzer troubleshooting, and billing processes.

The candidate should have a MLS-related degree, NAACLS/ASCP eligibility, and 5 years of MT experience, with strong terminology, computer, and multitasking skills to support patient care and laboratory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science.
• Completion of a NAACLS-accredited MLS program or a U.S. Military medical laboratory training program that qualifies for ASCP MLS certification eligibility.
• Current certification or certification eligibility within 12 months of hire as a Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist by ASCP BOC, or as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by AMT, or an equivalent national certifying agency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lab staff in all locations to ensure workflow is efficient.
• Assign appropriate staff to each clinic location.
• Oversee daily billing responsibilities for the lab.
• Identify and implement process improvements for workflow.
• Escalate issues to the lab manager as appropriate.
• Communicate with the lab manager about employee issues.
• Perform, verify, and report laboratory tests per policy.
• Maintain instrument calibration and preventive maintenance.
