Job summary

Minnesota Oncology in Woodbury, MN seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to lead and perform moderate and high complexity testing. You will calibrate instruments, run quality controls, and supervise lab operations in the absence of the supervisor.

The role includes training staff and handling specimen processing with attention to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate holds a MLS/MLS-credentialed degree and ASCP certification, plus minimum three years' experience in a clinical lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Medical Technology, Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science from an NAACLS accredited program.
• ASCP or equivalent certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity laboratory tests.
• Maintain instrument calibration and quality control.
• Train staff and act as lead operator for at least one instrument.
• Oversee daily lab activities in absence of supervisor.
• Prepare specimens and report results in the LIS/EMR.
• Ensure quality assurance and OSHA compliance.
