Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX seeks a Lead Tech - Medical (ASCP) to supervise the laboratory section or shift, coordinate scheduling, training, and budgeting to support cost containment. The role ensures policy maintenance, quality control, proficiency testing, and integration with the department's goals and regulatory standards.

Leadership in planning, organizing, and directing department activities to meet fiscal and service excellence goals, with a focus on patient care

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, microbiology, biology, chemistry, or related science.
• Five years of clinical laboratory experience.
• ASCP or NCA certification required.
• Must meet CLIA ’88 personnel requirements.
• Mathematical, computer, reasoning and language skills at undergraduate/graduate level.

Responsibilities

• Readily assumes essential functions critical to successful performance.
• Provides supervisory and technical expertise per CAP, CLIA’88, JCAHO, AABB and hospital procedures.
• Participates in maintenance and safety programs and measures performance improvements.
• Exhibits leadership in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating department functions.
• Investigates value-added programs and services and supports customer satisfaction.
