Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX seeks a Tech/MLT under the supervision of the Technical Coordinator to perform waived and non-waived complexity analysis of patient specimens for diagnostic purposes, within the Department of Clinical Laboratory Services.

The role emphasizes adherence to CAP, CLIA, JCAHO, and AABB standards, quality control, equipment maintenance, safety programs, and participation in performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Associate degree in medical technology, biology, chemistry, or related science preferred.
• Minimum Work Experience: One year experience preferred.
• Certifications: ASCP, AMT, and/or NCA preferred or eligible.
• Certification Maintenance Program every 3 years to maintain certification.
• Mathematical, computer, reasoning and language skills at the college level required.

Responsibilities

• Practices clinical laboratory science according to CAP, CLIA ’88, JCAHO, AABB and other regulations.
• Actively participates in policy and procedure review and revision.
• Monitors quality control data and instrument maintenance.
• Participates in maintenance and safety programs.
• Participates in and supports performance improvement in assigned areas.
