Job summary
Northwest Texas Healthcare System is seeking a Tech - Medical (ASCP/REG) to perform waived and non-waived analyses of patient specimens under the Department of Laboratory Services. The Tech supports quality control, instrument maintenance, and performance improvement in a dynamic hospital setting.
The role requires a baccalaureate degree in medical technology or related science, plus internship experience; ASCP/AMT/NCA certification is preferred or eligible.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Baccalaurate degree in medical technology, biology, chemistry, or related science required.
- Minimum Work Experience: One year clinical laboratory internship required.
- Certifications: ASCP, AMT, and/or NCA preferred or eligible
Responsibilities
- Performs waived and non-waived complexity analysis of patient specimens for diagnostic purposes.
- Works under supervision to ensure quality control and instrument maintenance.
- Contributes to policy/procedure reviews and performance improvement in assigned areas.
- Performs clinical laboratory procedures across specialty areas to optimize pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical workflows.
