Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Medical Assistant Supervisor (FGP) for the Brooklyn Multispecialty Surgery site. The role oversees daily MA/PCA operations, supports physicians, and enhances patient care quality.

You will train staff, coordinate schedules, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining efficient patient flow. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, a Medical Assistant program or national certification, and at least two years of MA experience with EKG and phlebotomy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution or hold aMedical Assistant Certification (AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA).
• At least 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Proficiency in EKG, phlebotomy/venipuncture.
• Leadership potential; ability to guide and coach staff; knowledge of medical insurance eligibility and authorization rules.

Responsibilities

• Oversees MA staff and patient care activities at a Faculty Group Practice site.
• Plans, schedules and manages attendance, payroll, and timekeeping for direct reports.
• Trains MA/PCA staff and ensures cross-training and coverage across shifts.
• Acts as liaison between clinical staff and physicians to ensure effective patient care.
• Supports patient flow and access, enforces HIPAA/compliance, and oversees QA/QI activities.
