Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant for our Acworth, GA clinic. You will support physicians with clinical and administrative tasks, including patient prep, vitals, and X-ray duties, while coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes podiatry/orthopedic exposure, strong communication, and experience with athenahealth EMR. Regular weekday clinic hours and a collaborative environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal.
• Experience assisting or providing care to geriatric patients preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience using EMR; athenahealth preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Complete exam intake and review medical history and related info.
• Take vitals and document in the EMR (athenahealth).
• Assist physician with procedures including X-ray as required.
• Perform daily administrative tasks and restock exam rooms.
• Sterilize and clean exam and X-ray rooms after visits.
• Coordinate care for Upperline Plus patients and follow-up via calls.
• Handle care coordination tasks: records requests, referrals, scheduling.
