Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a driven Medical Assistant to support podiatric physicians in a Smyrna, GA clinic. Responsibilities include exam prep, intake, vitals, and assisting with x-ray work, with travel to nearby clinics as needed.

The ideal candidate has prior MA experience, familiarity with athenahealth EMR, and strong communication skills. Experience in podiatry/orthopedics and geriatric care is preferred. Competitive benefits and weekday clinic hours are offered.

Qualifications

• Prior Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Podiatry or orthopedic clinic exposure preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Care coordination or care management experience ideal.
• Experience working with geriatric patients preferred.
• Proficient in medical terminology and EMR use (athenahealth).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prep them for physician appointment.
• Complete exam intake including medical, social, surgical histories.
• Record vitals and documentation in EMR (athenahealth).
• Assist in exam and take x-rays per podiatric physician.
• Restock exam rooms and dispose of exam room trash daily.
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after visits.
• Coordinate care for Upperline Plus patients.
• Telephonic outreach to coordinate preventive care.
• Manage medical records requests, referrals, scheduling.
• Travel to surrounding clinics if needed.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
