Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital in Weymouth, MA is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant to join the Endocrinology team. This leadership role blends hands-on patient care with staff training, mentoring, and daily coordination, reporting to the Practice Manager to promote efficient operations and an outstanding patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Medical Assistant required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of Medical Assistant experience required, including proficiency in clinical and administrative responsibilities.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and team management skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, HIPAA, and privacy regulations.
• Ability to take vital signs, perform manual blood pressure, collect specimens, multitask, and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Experience with electronic health record systems and medical office software.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, training, mentoring, and day-to-day guidance to the Medical Assistant team.
• Support clinical operations by coordinating patient flow and ensuring timely care delivery.
• Assist with patient intake, including obtaining medical history, taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations.
• Assign tasks to team members to promote workload balance.
• Serve as liaison between clinical staff, Practice Manager, and providers to support communication and issue resolution.
• Participate in new clinical initiatives, quality control programs, competency assessments, onboarding of new hires or students.
• Foster a positive, collaborative team environment focused on teamwork and high-quality patient care.
