Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant to join the Endocrinology team in Weymouth. This newly created role offers an opportunity to shape workflows, support clinical operations, and serve as a trusted resource for colleagues.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of Medical Assistant experience, MA certification, and strong leadership and communication skills to mentor teammates and improve patient care workflows.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years Medical Assistant experience required, with proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, HIPAA, and privacy regulations.
  • Ability to take vital signs, collect specimens, and support fast-paced clinical environments.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems and medical office software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, training, mentoring, and day-to-day guidance to the Medical Assistant team.
  • Support clinical operations by coordinating patient flow and ensuring timely care delivery.
  • Assist with patient intake, recording medical history, vitals, and preparing patients for examinations.
  • Assign tasks to team members to optimize workload and resources.
  • Serve as liaison between clinical staff, Practice Manager, and providers to support communication and issue resolution.
  • Participate in new clinical initiatives, quality control, onboarding, and precepting of new hires or students.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team environment focused on teamwork and high-quality patient care.

Are you an experienced Medical Assistant ready to take the next step in your career? Mass General Brigham is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant to join our Endocrinology team in Weymouth. Schedule: Hours may range from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Flexibility is needed to support department needs and patient care operations.

What You Will Do

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of Medical Assistant experience required, including demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and team management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, protocols, HIPAA, and privacy regulations.
  • Ability to take vital signs, perform manual blood pressure, collect specimens, multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems and medical office software.
