Job summary

Yale University in New Haven seeks a Lead Medical Assistant to support Smilow Cancer Hospital Ambulatory Clinics. You will work with the Ambulatory Clinical Practice Administrator to optimize patient flow, troubleshoot clinical equipment, and coordinate daily assignments for optimal clinician support.

You will mentor and onboard new medical assistants, manage inventory, and ensure staffing levels meet clinic needs.

Qualifications

• Six years of related work experience or four years plus an Associate's degree; or a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or equivalent mix of experience and education.
• Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants or eligibility to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and orient at least three Medical Assistants; provide ongoing training and support.
• Ensure clinic runs efficiently with proper staffing, supplies and adherence to visit guidelines.
• Coordinate patient appointments, maintain equipment/inventory, and manage referrals and test scheduling.
