Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is hiring a Medical Assistant in Connecticut. You will assist physicians, room patients, manage charts in EPIC, and support administrative and environmental tasks to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, MA certificate or phlebotomy training, and at least 1 year of related experience; CNA/EMT/Paramedic or CCMA/CMA/RMA preferred. BLS preferred. On-site position with strong patient-facing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; MA certificate or Phlebotomy program, CNA, EMT, or Paramedic preferred.
• Certification/registration (CCMA/CMA/AAMA/RMA) preferred; BLS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as MA/CNA/EMT/ACA/PCA/PCT/Paramedic/Phlebotomist required; new grads considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care and rooming, perform clerical and environmental tasks.
• Handle scheduling, chart management, and patient communication.
• Maintain patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance; support billing processes.
• Prepare patients for visits and assist with procedures as directed.
• Coordinate with Care Coordinator and participate in department quality improvement.
