Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians with patient care, room patients, and handle clerical tasks. You will also assist with EPIC charting, procedure preparation, and patient education to contribute to a respectful, patient-centered environment.

This role includes front desk support, appointment scheduling, and coordinating care with the care team while upholding HIPAA and quality standards in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; MA/CNA/EMT/Paramedic certificates preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in relevant medical support roles.
• Certification in BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care responsibilities as assigned and assists with rooming patients.
• Performs administrative duties: scheduling, chart management, and handling patient records in EPIC.
• Maintains infection control and cleans exam rooms and equipment between visits.
• Obtains and communicates necessary pre-authorizations and patient instructions.
• Cross-trains on front desk duties: greeting patients, answering calls, scheduling appointments.
• May assist with chaperone duties for procedures and other duties as required.
