Job summary

American Family Care Castle Rock is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide general medical care in an outpatient clinic setting under supervision. The role includes vitals collection, history taking, and preparing patients for exams.

The position requires an Associate degree in Medical Assisting; AMT registration or AAMA certification are preferred. Flexible schedule and patient-centered care are emphasized in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• AMT registration and AAMA certification are preferred.
• Six months to one year of related experience and/or training is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire and train Medical Assistant staff.
• Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam.
• Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients.
• Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per procedure.
• Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing or in-house processing.
• Perform lab tests and quality controls following written instructions.
• Coordinate oversight of laboratory with Lab Director and Medical Director as needed.
• Conduct drug screening procedures per rules and regulations.
• Document immunizations and ensure proper storage.
• Perform patient referrals and pre-certifications as needed.
• Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments and supplies.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Qualifications

Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AMT registered and AAMA Certified Medical Assistants are preferred.
