Job summary

Via Separations, a Boston-area startup, is looking for a Lead Mechanical Technician to join our Internal Systems group in Watertown, MA. You will lead assembly, fabrication, and build-out of internal test equipment, including test skids, pumps, piping, and controls, reading engineering drawings and safety procedures.

You will mentor colleagues, troubleshoot test equipment around hazardous liquids and gases, and coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and HVAC contractors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on experience assembling, fabricating, and maintaining mechanical and piping systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specs.
• Experience using hand tools and shop equipment like cut-off saws and pipe threading machines.
• Comfortable around hazardous liquids and gases andSafe working around such environments.

Responsibilities

• Build & assembly of internal test equipment and skids with pumps, piping, valves, instrumentation, and controls.
• Read drawings and specifications to plan builds and order materials.
• Lead build sequencing and coordinate with engineers and procurement for timely delivery.
• Maintain, inspect, and repair existing test skids and systems; troubleshoot issues.
