Job summary

Clayco, a leading real estate development and construction firm, seeks a Mechanical Preconstruction Manager to drive preconstruction for mechanical systems on heavy manufacturing, industrial and mission-critical projects. You will develop accurate estimates, coordinate with engineers, architects, subcontractors and internal teams, and travel as needed nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5-10 years in preconstruction/estimating with focus on mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Fire Protection).
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication across multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Collect and distribute bid docs and prepare scopes for bids using online platforms.
• Prepare estimates, bids and pricing documents for conceptual and detailed work.
• Review project documents, perform constructability analysis and identify risk with mitigation.
• Coordinate mechanical scopes with other trades and mentor junior staff.
