Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in Atlanta, GA seeks a Mechanical & Piping Technical Specialist I to supervise a design team and deliver mechanical and piping deliverables on schedule and within budget. The role requires extensive experience in mechanical/piping drafting, strong CAD skills, and ability to mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities include guiding the design process, coordinating with discipline leads, and contributing to project controls such as cost estimates and schedules.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with piping materials and standards
• Knowledge of piping design for process and utility systems
• Drafting of P&ID’s and GA’s
• Ability to estimate construction costs
• Lead and mentor a small design staff
• Proficient in 2D CAD tools (AutoCAD, Microstation)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide technical direction to a design team
• Deliver mechanical and piping deliverables on time and within budget
• Provide guidance on complex design assignments and ensure conformance to codes
• Coordinate with other disciplines and lead squad checks
• Prepare and review construction cost estimates and quantities
• Assist in training and development of staff
