Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky in Lexington, KY seeks a Mechanical Maint & Operations Technician II to lead maintenance and operation of facility systems. The position is located at the new medical facility in Lexington and reports to the Division of Adult Institutions.

The role requires at least four years of experience in maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems, with substitutions allowed for education/experience as described.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Four years of experience in maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.
• Substitution: formal training in one of these fields can replace experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Substitution: experience in one of these fields can replace education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Inspects assigned area and projects maintenance needs with department heads.
• Performs preventative maintenance for the area and coordinates with other trades.
• Inspects equipment and determines parts needs and orders as required.
• Supervises support teams within the assigned area.
• Prepares reports and maintains documentation as needed.
