Job summary

Kentucky Performing Arts seeks a Maintenance Technician III to support our engineering team at Louisville venues. You will lead preventive maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC systems, and coordinate repairs with vendors and staff to keep central plant assets operating efficiently.

The role requires 7–10 years of related experience, HVAC/electrical certifications, EPA Universal Certification, and strong communication skills for internal and external collaboration.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or its equivalency, and technical certification or training in a trade (HVAC, electrical).
  • HVAC or electrical certifications.
  • EPA Universal Certification required.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge to work with and control automated HVAC systems equipment to include DDC and pneumatics controls and devices is required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate well, both inside and outside the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold a program of preventive maintenance, including troubleshooting, lubricating and cleaning all equipment and machinery as needed.
  • Operate a variety of tools, equipment and machines including multi-meters, saws, drills, and various hand tools to perform repair and maintenance work.
  • Prepare the various theaters and support spaces for upcoming events.
  • Properly operate a cutting torch and undergo training in the use of Electric Arc, M.I.G., T.I.G. and acetylene welding.
  • Assure compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures with applicable federal, state, and local codes/requirements.
  • Perform a variety of skilled work in maintenance and repair. Prioritize, schedule, and coordinate the work assigned to accomplish a variety of duties related to building trades.
