Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a General Maintenance Technician to service multiple campus buildings in Louisville, KY. The role requires hands-on mechanical, electrical and plumbing skills and a collaborative approach to daily maintenance tasks.

You will diagnose and repair minor plumbing and electrical issues, assist more senior trades, and maintain equipment and parts using a data-based work order system. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Apprentice program preferred.
• 2–5 years general maintenance experience required.
• 2–5 years hospital maintenance experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• HVAC or Plumbing journeyman preferred.
• EPA Technician Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Corrects and repairs minor plumbing problems including flush valves, drains, faucets and showers.
• Repairs med gas valve leaks by rebuilding front bodies as required.
• Fixes minor electrical problems such as ballasts, receptacles and light switches.
• Dismantles equipment to clean, replace, and/or repair.
• Assists other skilled workers and performs general maintenance as requested.
