Job summary

Ashland in Hopewell, VA is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor II to oversee daily maintenance activities in a chemical manufacturing environment. You will coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, lead a team of mechanical craftsmen, and ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and uptime.

This role reports to Maintenance Manager and collaborates with scheduling, production, engineering and reliability teams, driving continuous improvement and cost reduction through lean practices

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience in chemical, petrochemical, or industrial manufacturing.
• 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of pumps, compressors, piping, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
• Experience with CMMS and maintenance planning tools.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical craftsman to improve capabilities.
• Plan, schedule, and ensure timely maintenance activities.
• Manage safety, compliance, and risk assessments.
• Coordinate with scheduling, production, engineering, and reliability teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce costs.
