Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree a plus.
• 10+ years in design engineering with mechanical architecture and mentoring.
• Medical device industry experience with design controls is a strong plus.
• Experience with patient-customized parametric modeling and commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of wearable orthotic systems for lightweight structures and actuation.
• Create parametric CAD models for scalable patient-specific customization.
• Ensure durability, performance, manufacturability, and DFMA with regulatory alignment.
• Lead design reviews and foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Mentor engineers and promote high-performance design culture.
• Prioritize comfort, weight, adjustability, wearability, and integrate clinician/patient feedback.
• Manage project priorities, resources and timelines to hit milestones.
• Ensure medical device design controls compliance, support V&V and production improvements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing for design transfer and scale-up.
