Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a senior mechanical design engineer to lead a team from conceptual design to final design of space-based vehicles. The role involves coordinating PDP/ADP content and ensuring release processes are followed across interdisciplinary teams.

The candidate should have extensive CAD modeling experience, familiarity with aerospace manufacturing, and strong leadership and communication skills. U.S. citizenship and DoD Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 12+ years with Bachelors; 10 with Masters; 8 with PhD.
• U.S. citizen with active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain SAP approval.
• 5+ years of CAD modeling experience.
• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability; GD&T.
• Must have 2+ years of leading Mechanical Engineering/technical teams.
• Experience with hypersonic systems, flight systems, and/or missiles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of design engineers from conceptual design to final design for a space-based vehicle.
• Attend program reviews and technical meetings to provide progress updates.
• Coordinate electrical system engineering with other integration teams.
• Oversee PDPs/ADPs through full review and release process.
• Review MBOMs, data sheets, ICDs, specifications and analyses.
