Job summary

AMD in Austin, TX is seeking a Rack and Chassis Design Mechanical Engineer to shape the mechanical backbone of next‑gen AI servers and high‑density infrastructure. You will work across mechanical design, thermal management, and system integration from concept to production, influencing product direction in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, perform Creo-based modeling, and drive design reviews.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in server design and high-density infrastructure.
• Strong thermal management knowledge.
• Experience leading multiple programs in parallel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a global team to define, design, and integrate mechanical systems for server products.
• Lead mechanical development across server design, system architecture, rack-level integration, and cooling solutions.
• Perform mechanical modeling in Creo, tolerance analysis, and system-level mechanical design.
• Contribute to post-silicon development through test planning, characterization, data analysis, and support of customer/reference systems.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers; act as a key decision-maker in design reviews and cross-functional discussions.
• Drive the continuous improvement of mechanical design processes and workflows.
• Champion innovation by introducing new mechanical design concepts, technologies, and methodologies.
• Use independent judgment and initiative to solve complex mechanical challenges and influence product direction.
