Job summary

Falcata is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to support its PES team in Huntsville, Alabama. In this experienced IC role, you will own the mechanical and electromechanical designs for RF prototypes from concept through fabrication, integration, and test.

You will collaborate with RF and electrical engineers to resolve packaging, size, weight, thermal, and interface constraints for antennas and electronics in host platforms, and you will mentor less-experienced engineers on design practices while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) and 5-7 years' experience developing mechanical or electromechanical products.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software for complex part modeling and engineering drawing creation.
• Ability to own mechanical designs from concept through prototype build and test, with sound material, manufacturing, and tolerance decisions.
• Ability to create and review technical drawings, BOMs, design documentation, and mechanical interfaces for fabrication and integration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience coordinating across engineering disciplines and external fabrication partners.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design of housings, enclosures, brackets, adapters, and assemblies; develop 3D CAD models and production-ready drawings.
• Define mechanical concepts and trade-offs, maintain BOMs, and coordinate prototype parts and assembly procurement.
• Apply materials selection, tolerance analysis, DFM, and DFA to meet performance and build requirements.
• Partner with electrical and RF engineers to resolve packaging, size, weight, thermal, and interface constraints for antennas and electronics in host platforms.
• Lead mechanical integration of electronics into host platforms, including fit checks, design changes, and hands-on prototype support.
