Job summary

Worley is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer in Baton Rouge, LA to lead mechanical engineering activities across brownfield and greenfield projects. The role focuses on equipment data, specifications, design calculations, and drawings for oil, gas, chemical, petrochemical, power, and bulk materials projects.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in capital projects, strong leadership, and familiarity with ASME/API standards, with a commitment to safety and quality in regulated

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 10+ years of capital project experience; lead role or equivalent.
• Registered Professional Engineer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering leadership from concept through commissioning.
• Lead development of specifications, design calculations, and drawings for mechanical equipment.
• Coordinate with piping, process, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation, and procurement teams.
• Support vendor selection, bid evaluations, and procurement decisions.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
