LaBella Associates in Brooklyn, NY is hiring a mid-level Mechanical Engineer in our Building Engineering Division – Energy Infrastructure team. The role centers on decarbonization and electrification projects, guiding them from feasibility through design and construction.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, mentor junior staff, and present findings to clients. Requirements include 8–10 years of HVAC and hydronic design experience, Revit or AutoCAD proficiency, a NYS PE license is a plus,

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Well-rounded experience in HVAC and hydronic system design.
• Preferred: experience designing geothermal or district energy systems.
• Experience with Revit or AutoCAD.
• New York State Professional Engineer’s license is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of building HVAC systems and district energy systems.
• Field investigations to document existing conditions.
• Selection and calculations for design purposes.
• Work with Jr Engineers to develop and review project drawings and documentation.
• Interact directly with clients by completing analysis of design options and communicating results.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and utility requirements.
