Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Los Angeles to lead design of mechanical systems across Higher Education, Culture & Performing Arts, Healthcare, K-12, Justice and Energy sectors. You will guide mechanical teams, produce construction documents in Revit, and manage project schedules within a collaborative, integrated design process.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 7+ years’ experience in HVAC, central plants, plumbing and fire suppression, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with PE license.
• 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience including HVAC, central plants, plumbing and fire suppression.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and ability to coordinate with architects and other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of mechanical systems for buildings across sectors.
• Prepare detailed drawings and calculations; manage Mechanical Designers and teams.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers and clients in an integrated design process.
• Create and coordinate Revit documents and perform code-based HVAC calculations.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs and submittals and conduct site visits.
