Job summary

Delkor Systems, Inc. in Minnesota is seeking an experienced design engineer to work on complex machine systems. You will design custom components, match assemblies to orders, and create CAD models, drawings, and BOMs for multiple machine orders.

You will lead project design reviews, mentor junior engineers, perform calculations and testing, and coordinate with service and manufacturing to meet deadlines. Strong SolidWorks and mechanical analysis background is required.

Qualifications

• BSME and four years of experience or a two year Associates Degree in Engineering plus a minimum of eight years of machine design experience.
• Four+ years of related-industry experience designing with SolidWorks or similar 3-D modeling.
• Ability to read, understand, analyze and solve complex mechanical systems and drawings.
• Mentor and lead others on designs and projects.
• FEA and motion analysis knowledge.
• Understand machine controls systems and capabilities.
• Servo motor-driven packaging machinery experience.
• Knowledge of BOM structures, release procedures, and PDM.

Responsibilities

• Match assemblies to machine order specifications and design custom components.
• Create CAD assemblies, part models, drawings, and BOMs; verify accuracy.
• Review designs before releasing assemblies; escalate as needed.
• Lead strategic design projects and direct project team activities.
• Estimate hours and material costs; track to estimates.
• Assist service and manufacturing to solve engineering problems.
• Perform engineering tasks: specs, calculations, prototype testing, layouts, and drawings.
• Engage in design and cost reviews and project reviews.
