Job summary

Benchmark in Rochester, MN seeks a highly capable mechanical design engineer to develop customer products and tooling, from initial concepts to detailed designs and documentation. You will create and review drawings, perform tolerance analyses, and coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure proper fabrication of components and fixtures.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design and documentation for customer products and tooling.
• Proficiency in creating basic to advanced engineering drawings and specs.
• Ability to perform tolerance analyses and material selections.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical design and documentation for customer products and tooling to support manufacturing.
• Develop basic to intermediate drawings of components and assemblies.
• Perform engineering calculations and write specifications.
• Interact with vendors to ensure proper fabrication of mechanical components.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings and support assembly of tooling and fixtures.
• Communicate project status and assist in cost estimates and DFx reviews.
