Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and components. You will drive feasibility through production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.

The role requires 8+ years in rotating equipment, strong CAD, FEA, GD&T, and leadership skills; PE license preferred. Sulzer offers competitive PTO, 401k, health benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• B.S.M.E. required; M.S. in mech eng. desirable; PE license preferred.
• 8+ years in rotating equipment product development, R&D, or advanced engineering environments.
• Experience leading complex engineering projects from feasibility through implementation.
• Experience with manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, casting, assembly).
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience with engineering test methods, verification protocols, and data analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English; ability to mentor.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of new products and technologies.
• Lead product improvements for cost-out or consolidation.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and tolerance analysis.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and documentation.
• Conduct design verification, validation testing, and root cause analysis.
• Manage product development projects, schedules, budgets, and milestones.
• Review and check engineering documentation, specifications, and change requests.
• Stay current with industry trends and manufacturing processes.
• Support additional duties and special projects.
