Job summary

Sulzer is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Expert to lead design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems. This role provides expert technical leadership and drives projects from feasibility through production, collaborating across functions to meet performance and cost targets.

Lead design for new products, improve existing ones, and perform analyses, while mentoring engineers. Strong CAD/FEA, GD&T, and project management skills are essential for this senior role.

Qualifications

• Education: BSME or related discipline; Master’s preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 8+ years in mechanical engineering for rotating equipment, R&D, or advanced environments.
• Experience leading complex projects with multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of manufacturing: machining, sheet metal, casting, assembly.
• Experience with test methods, verification protocols, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of new products and technologies.
• Lead cost-out improvements and consolidation of similar technologies.
• Generate and evaluate concepts, prototypes, and design alternatives.
• Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and tolerance analyses.
• Develop 3D CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Conduct design verification, validation testing, and root cause analysis.
• Manage projects, schedules, budgets, and milestones.
• Review engineering documentation and change requests.
