Ashton North LLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own the ground-up architecture of custom robotic cells and high-speed automation in Brown Deer, WI. You will lead multi-axis designs in SolidWorks and collaborate with a small team of five lead engineers on-site.

The role emphasizes autonomy, technical depth, and direct interaction with machinists and controls engineers, with a path toward senior leadership in a high-growth, global OEM environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or 5–10 years of verifiable, ground-up custom equipment design experience in heavy machinery or high-speed automation.
• SolidWorks fluency for large assemblies and production-ready drawings.
• Knowledge of weldments, materials, machine shop processes, and tight tolerances.
• Proven history of scheduling and budget adherence with strong tenure.
• US work authorization and local residency near Brown Deer, WI.

Responsabilités

• Ground-Up Machine Architecture: Lead mechanical design integrity for high-speed automated machinery and robotic work cells.
• Conceptual Design & Quoting: Develop concepts and collaborate with Project Managers on cost-effective automated solutions.
• Project & Team Leadership: Break down design scopes into milestones, guide detailers, and coordinate with fabrication partners.
• Fluid Power & Drive Systems: Select hydraulics, pneumatics, and servo systems for optimal performance.
• Design Reviews & Safety Verification: Conduct early reviews to identify hazards and ergonomic issues before shop release.
• Client & Assembly Floor Collaboration: Serve as technical contact for global clients and manage BOM releases.
