Job summary

Eaton's Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Specialist Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) within 50 miles of the facility. You will lead mechanical design for critical power infrastructure from concept to launch.

You will own the mechanical design, mentor engineers, drive innovation, and collaborate with global cross-functional teams to meet safety, quality, reliability, cost, and schedule goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with minimum 8 years of mechanical design experience.
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience.
• PhD in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 2 years of mechanical design experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and launch of critical power infrastructure products.
• Own mechanical design of assigned products, making engineering decisions based on analysis, testing, DFMA principles, cost targets, and cross-functional input.
• Develop mechanical systems and components using 3D CAD, engineering analysis, prototype validation, and product testing to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.
• Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to develop next-generation UPS and energy storage solutions for mission-critical applications such as data centers and healthcare facilities.
• Drive product architecture, system layout, and detailed design decisions while balancing performance, manufacturability, serviceability, reliability, and cost objectives.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentorship, and application of engineering best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Support prototype builds, verification and validation testing, customer deployments, and regulatory certification activities, including UL compliance.
• Identify and implement improvements to engineering processes, tools, and test methodologies to enhance product quality, efficiency, and speed to market.
