Job summary

Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division seeks a Specialist Mechanical Engineer in Raleigh, NC. This hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) focuses on mechanical design of critical power infrastructure from concept to launch.

The role leads cross-functional teams, advances thermal and mechanical design technologies, and drives continuous improvement across global engineering. Salary ranges reflect market levels for senior mechanical roles in the U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8+ years of mechanical design experience.
  • Alternatively Master’s degree with 5+ years experience.
  • PhD with 2+ years experience in mechanical design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, and launch of power infrastructure products.
  • Own mechanical design decisions with DFMA and cost targets.
  • Develop mechanical systems using 3D CAD and validation testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on UPS and storage solutions.
  • Drive architecture and detailed design balancing performance and cost.
  • Provide leadership via design reviews and mentorship.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, deployments, and UL certification.
  • Improve engineering processes and test methodologies.
