Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer in St. Louis, Missouri to join our Property & Buildings Building Systems Team.

You will lead mechanical design and delivery for a diverse portfolio of building projects, focusing on HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, and life safety systems from concept through construction. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with architects and other disciplines, support client relationships, and contribute to proposal preparation and project pursuits while upholding codes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• 7+ years of mechanical building systems design experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary building projects through design and construction.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, hydronics, plumbing, and energy performance.
• Experience creating construction documents, specs, and calculations.
• Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong leadership and client relationship skills.
• Ability to collaborate with project teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and delivery for diverse building projects.
• Serve as technical lead for HVAC, hydronic, and life safety systems.
• Manage projects and engineering teams to meet scope, schedule, budget, quality.
• Coordinate with architects and engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support client relationships and business development activities.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Review calculations, specs, and construction documents.
