Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Property & Buildings Team in St. Louis, Missouri. Lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for diverse building projects and mentor junior staff.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, perform load calculations, and contribute to project delivery from planning through construction administration. Requires 5–7 years in building systems; EIT and ABET‑accredited degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience designing electrical systems for buildings within a consulting engineering environment.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification.
• Demonstrated experience designing power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low‑voltage systems for building projects.
• Working knowledge of NEC, IBC, and related industry standards.
• Experience preparing and coordinating electrical construction documents and technical specifications.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of building electrical systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Prepare calculations, technical specifications, reports, and construction documents.
• Perform load calculations, short‑circuit analyses, coordination studies, and arc flash studies.
• Lead project design using Revit, AutoCAD and other software.
• Coordinate with architects, structural/mechanical teams and clients.
• Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
• Participate in client meetings and proposal development.
• Conduct site investigations and construction observation.
