HDR, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Team Lead in Chicago, IL to guide a diverse group of engineers and designers in delivering high‑quality mechanical systems for a range of building projects.

You will partner with the Mechanical Section Manager, lead staffing and proposals, mentor staff, and drive technical excellence across markets including commercial, civic, healthcare, and labs. Local candidates preferred.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required or preferred.
• Master's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering is preferred.
• Professional registration/license may be required based on role.
• Strong communication and listening skills are essential.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize.
• Leadership and organizational skills are required.
• Active participation in HDR employee-owned culture is expected.

Mansioni

• Lead a team of mechanical engineers, EITs and designers with varying experience.
• Collaborate with team leads and managers on staffing and proposals.
• Provide leadership with a focus on technical excellence, quality, mentoring and staff development.
• Ensure technical excellence across key markets including commercial, civic, industrial, federal, healthcare, labs and more.
• Function as design lead or project manager for key projects.
