Job summary

Allient Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Los Angeles, CA to join our core engineering team. The role focuses on mechanical design of product features, tooling, and project management for high-performance BLDC motors used in aerospace, satellites, and medical robotics.

You will work with design, production, and quality teams, develop test plans, qualify new materials, and explore innovative manufacturing methods. A Bachelor's in Engineering with 5–10 years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 5–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks models and prints; macros are a plus.
  • Experience with BLDC motors and product design.
  • Strong organization, detail orientation, and ability to drive projects.
  • Knowledge of GD&T.

Responsibilities

  • Translate modeled motor designs into mechanical prints and tooling.
  • Source materials and manage parts vendors.
  • Interface with design, production, and quality staff.
  • Lead ECOs and production readiness reviews.
  • Provide customer design support and coordinate with vendors.
  • Attend weekly meetings and design reviews.
  • Develop test plans and qualify new materials.
  • Explore new materials and design architectures.
